As the 2018 World Cup is fast approaching, the former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues to drop hints that his chances of playing for Sweden in Russia are as high as the sky.

The veteran star already retired from international football after Euro 2016, having won 116 caps, but with his great performance in the Major League Soccer under Los Angeles Galaxy, the striker signaled a possible return through his official Twitter account.

“The chance of me playing in the World Cup is skyhöga #FifaWorldCup2018” The striker stated following his third goals in three games for his new club. (Don’t forget to check 12BET for more Soccer Betting Tips)

Recently, he also hinted that he could return to the national team if he wants it as long as he feels very well despite of the reports claimed that FIFA rules will ban Zlatan from returning due to his partnership with Malta-based gambling company Bethard.

Rule 25 of chapter four of the FIFA ethics code states: “Persons bound by this code shall be forbidden from taking part in, either directly or indirectly, or otherwise being associated with, betting, gambling, lotteries and similar events or transactions connected with football matches. They are forbidden from having stakes, either actively or passively, in companies, concerns, organisations, etc. that promote, broker, arrange or conduct such events on transactions.” (Sign Up now for more updated sports news and events in 12BET Sportsbook)

However, the man himself made a statement by saying: “Fifa can’t stop me. If I want to be there, I’ll be there. Just as with the national team, if I want to play, I’ll play. This is not a question for Fifa, it’s a question for me and what I want.”

Ibrahimovic may be 36 years old, but he’s still got it and anything can happen, knowing that he is Sweden’s all-time top goal scorer with 62 goals in 116 appearances for his country.
