Ryan Giggs soon to be named as Wales manager

Former Manchester United interim manager is set to be named as the new Wales manager on a four-year contract.

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) has called a news conference for Manday afternoon in Cardiff where the former United boss is bound to be officially announced as the Dragons boss.

If things go smooth and without setbacks, Giggs will become he successor to Chis Coleman, who departed to join Sunderland back in November 2017.

The finishing touches of Giggs coaching agreement will be spearheaded by FAW chief executive Jonathan Ford on Monday morning.

Giggs, who has long been a target for the FAW, was one of the favourites for the role once Coleman departed after Wales failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup (check out the best betting odds available on Sportsbook).

However, Tony Pulis was also among the initial contenders to succeed Coleman, but he ruled himself out when he became Middlesbrough manager last month.

Add to that, Bowen was available after leaving Stoke, where he was assistant to boss Mark Hughes until the latter was sacked by the Potters on 6 January.

Meanwhile, Giggs, during his football playing carrer managed to win 64 caps between 1991 and 2007. He also captained his country team but was often criticized for regularly pulling out of squads and missing out on friendly games.

He also became a great Manchester United caretaker of the Red Devils for four games at the late stage of season 2013-2014 after the dismissal of David Moyes.
