With six months remaining before the start of the biggest event in Russia, Melbourne City defender Michael Jakobsen is claiming already that Australia will be no match for Denmark in the 2018 World Cup.
Jakobsen concluded that his country will be too much when the two sides clash on June 21, 2018 (GMT +8) at the Cosmos Arena in Samara.
“You can come back later and tell me I was wrong, but in my opinion I’m quite sure that Denmark is going to win against Australia and qualify for the following round. The Aussies play very physical, I think it’s the same in the A-League – it’s more physical than technical and tactical. I think that’s where Denmark can get in trouble if they start to try and match it physically with Australia. But if it’s a technical and tactical game, Denmark will beat Australia.” Jakobsen stated
The 32-year-old Danish defender has earned six caps for Denmark in 2009 and he will team up with Tottenham Hotspur star playmaker Christian Eriksen.
The Danish Dynamite can be found in Group C together with the Australia, Peru and France in the upcoming World Cup.
