Joe Gomez will be further assessed by Liverpool following his ankle injury during England’s International Friendly 1-0 victory against Netherlands in Amsterdam.
The 20-year-old defender just managed to play in less than 10 minutes and was substituted by Harry Maguire after the incident in an aerial due, where he landed awkwardly.

A statement from England read: “Joe Gomez has withdrawn from the England squad and returned to Liverpool for further assessment by his club’s medical team. It follows an ankle injury sustained during the Three Lions’ 1-0 win over the Netherlands on Friday. There are no plans at this stage to call in a replacement ahead of Tuesday’s game against Italy at Wembley Stadium.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool confirmed the injury that Gomez has sustained.

Moving forward, it’s unclear if the injury will rule him out for Liverpool’s visit to Crystal Palace on Saturday, March 31, 2018.
As of now, Gomez had made 21 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the Premier League this season.
