England boss Gareth Southgate has plans incase Harry Kane miss World Cup

England manager Gareth Southgate plans to strengthen and get the national team even stronger incase star forward Harry Kane will miss the World Cup 2018 in Russia.

Kane, who currently scored 35 goals for Tottenham Hotspur this season, has been ruled out for England’s friendlies this March over Netherland and Italy due to ankle ligament injury.

Recently, the 24-year-old star suffered the injury in Tottenham’s 4-1 away victory against Bournemouth after a collision with goalkeeper Asmir Begovic and following the assessment, Kane will be out until next month.

Southgate cannot deny his disappointments of not to having Kane’s presence in the national team’s March friendlies.

The England manager has insisted that his side must learn how to cope up and be prepared with or without Kane.

“It’s a disappointment for us not to have Harry with us. I think of the 14 games I’ve had, he’s only be available for six and, within those six he’s scored seven goals so that’s an indication of his importance and standing for us. Having said that we’ve had to cope without him, it’s important we learn to cope without him because you never know what’s going to happen in football. Always part of what I’m working on is to strengthen the squad and that people are able to come in because we’ve been to previous tournaments and lost important players and the focus is always on that rather than the collective.” Southgate stated

Going back, the star striker had a similar injury last season that resulted for him to be sidelined and miss 10 matches.

Moving forward, Southgate is still confident that Kane will be fit with plenty of time left before the World Cup while the Spurs are hopeful that he will return on April.
