Zlatan Ibrahimovic hits World Cup comeback for Sweden

Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic could possibly come out of international retirement for Sweden in the upcoming World Cup in Russia.

Ibrahimovic has suggested that his door is open to return to the Swedish national team if he can be able to recover his fitness.

According to the 36-year-old veteran striker, he admitted that it was hard to watch his national team play without him.

Going back, Sweden, who came second to France in World Cup qualifying Group A,  booked their spot in Russia by beating Italy in a two-legged playoff last 2017 of November to reach the finals.

“I miss the national team. When you’ve played for 20 years and you get to see the others playing in the national team, it’s hard. But it’s hard in general when you’re injured because you want to play — both for your club and your national team. It’s been my life for 20 years and suddenly I’m in a position where I’m not playing every three days. But I just have to accept the situation and fight. I can’t do anything else, but train and fight and set my targets.” Ibra expressed

Ibrahimovic retired from international football after Euro 2016 but he cleared out that the door isn’t closed for anything.

He also added that it doesn’t even require a phone call to bring him back: “I don’t think anyone needs to call. If I want to, I’m there, that’s how it is. But one thing at a time. When I can do what I want to, I’ll have other thoughts.”

The Sweden, handled by Janne Anderson, will star their campaign against South Korea in Nizhny Novgorod and will also come up against trophy holders Germany and Mexico in Group F.

Moreover, Ibra is the national team’s all-time leading scorer with 62 international goals in 116 appearances and was a captain before his retirement.
